The Advocate
Natalia was very candid about her own experience detecting a lump in her breast while watching and episode of “The Oprah Winfrey show.” When she joined the cast of General Hospital, and the show ventured into Emily’s character dealing with Breast cancer herself, Natalia had personal experience to
draw upon. The storyline remained the most significant one for her reflecting on her time with General Hospital. This is especially true when watching the scenes from the show where “Emily” contemplates her mortality and believes she is preparing to leave the body. “I need to figure out how to die..” She tells her brother Jason, ‘that’s what’s happening, and I need to figure out how to make it Ok for them…” Natalia worked closely in several Breast Cancer awareness campaigns with the Susan G. Komen foundation. The foundation was formed in 1982 after Nancy G. Brinker promised her sister she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever.
The Humanitarian
Inspired by the work of Mother Teresa, and utilizing her training in Sociology and social work, Natalia has traveled through parts of Europe, Russia, and South Africa doing humanitarian and equality work. She treats each and every person she meets with kindness, dignity and respect. During a trip to India she worked at Mother Teresa’s Home for the Dying.
